What makes you apprehensive about public speaking?

What makes me apprehensive about public speaking is the large crowds. I can get anxious and nervous before a speech or presentation and forget my lines. Usually during a speech I start off shaky when i realize how many people are actually there paying attention to me. I'm not use to being the center of attention and can get self-conscious. Sometimes I will forget the main points that I wanted to state or I become disorganized and slowly my speech will fall apart. I also have a tendency to stare at only a certain part of the room or certain people, which makes me lose eye contact with everyone else. Also, sometimes I lose confidence in the points that I am trying to get across. Sometimes the points that I thought were so strong just sound weak when they are actually spoken out loud, which makes me very self-conscious and I start doubting what I am saying, and it shows. Hopefully this class will help me overcome these fears and help me become more confident.
