Speech Progress
I am doing my persuasive speech on the pros of Stem Cell Research. I have been doing a lot of research on this topic because it is very broad and a pretty important issue. This topic has really strong pros and cons, and can be a hard topic to persuade. I want to start of my speech with a personal story, or with a statistic, whichever i think will be more dramatic. One of my main points will be the history and background on the subject. I want people to really know what it is about, because most people don't know exactly what stem cell research is. I want my audience to be fully aware of what stem cell research is and how it works. I also want to make a main point of the pros of stem cell research and how it will help us. As a third point, i want to state the arguments that are made against stem cell research. By doing this, my audience can see the other side of my argument. But also, when i state these arguments, i want to show them how these arguments are not important and how they can be turned into something positive. I feel that i can better get my point across by using media. This way i can show the process of how it is done, and show pictures of who it can help and how. By showing pictures, i feel like it will make a more dramatic effect on my speech. Since it is a serious issue, i want my audience to see the difference it can make in people's lives. I want to show pictures of people who are paralyzed or have polio and Parkinson’s disease, and show how their lives can be changed. I can show media of different people's stories and how they believe stem cell research will help them. Stem cell research is something I am really passionate about and i feel that i can convince people to support it.
